Christian PREUSSER

Head of the EV core facility Center for Tumor Biology & Immunology

Philipps University, Marburg, Germany

Christian Preußer studied biology ate the Justus Liebig University of Gießen with the focus on molecular biology. He obtained his PhD on mRNA splicing in the unicellular parasite Trypanosoma brucei at the Institute of biochemistry. Following his doctoral thesis, he continued investigating mRNA processing in trypanosomes focusing on the biochemical characterization of the polyadenylation complex of T. brucei. After that he switched his research topic to circular RNA where he focused on circRNAs in human hematopoietic cells in particular platelets. During that time, he also worked on extracellular vesicles for the first time, whereupon he turned his main research focus on the selective release of RNAs into EVs. In 2020, he then joined the research group of Prof. Dr. Elke Pogge von Strandmann at the Philipps University in Marburg where he actually heads the first EV Core facility in Germany.
