Senior Principal Scientist and Group Lead

Department of Microchemistry, Proteomics and Lipidomics, Genetech

Dr. Ying Zhu is a senior principal scientist and group lead in the Department of Microchemistry, Proteomics, and Lipidomics at Genentech. He leads a team focusing on the development and implementation of single-cell and spatial proteomics technologies for early-stage drug discovery. Before Joining Genentech, he was an associate professor at Zhejiang university and a senior research scientist at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. His research career has been focused on developing ultrasensitive and high-throughput protein measurement technologies for low-input samples. He co-invented the nanoPOTS platform, which is the key technology in enabling single-cell proteomics, spatial proteomics, and multiomics.
